Why Is Missionary a Good Resource for Your Church?
Why is the Missionary docu-series a great resource for your church?
Chad: I'm excited about these documentaries because they're of such a high quality. They're done so well that you can just stream them at home via Amazon and watch them for entertainment value. You can watch them with your wife and kids on a Friday night. You can get together a group of friends and enjoy them. You could just watch them on your own so you can learn and be encouraged. You can gather groups of people in the church to to enjoy them together. I'm excited about that.
Brooks: I'm excited about the study aspect of it. Regularly, I have church pastors asking me, "What can I put in front of our church that will help educate them on missions?" I would elevate this to the top of the list just because you're getting something that is not going to bore them, like Chad's talking about. It's not going to be something that is lacking in visual and auditory stimulation, but you're going to have an educational tool that teaches the Bible and themes that these missionaries rooted their life into, biblical themes that transcend time. Leading people through that study, I think you will find a byproduct of that will be you'll raise up young people from within your midst that will get excited about this, you'll have saints that will recapture why missions is supposed to be primary in the church. It's not, "Well, we've got the choir program, we've got the youth program, oh, and we've got the missions program." No, this is woven through the theme of the church historically. So that study of these six men and women is going to be something that will add to your church, it will speak to that missions theme that is is all throughout scripture and is incumbent on the people of God in every age.
